About inspection jobs
These adverts name a role rather than a rank: a coating inspector, an NDT technician at a stated level, a marine warranty surveyor. Inspection work is defined by the qualification, not by a position on board, so an advert here asks no vessel type and no minimum sea time; the role and the place of work say what the job is.
Many inspectors are former officers and engineers, and companies still read their sea service. Keep the certificates the work depends on - AMPP (NACE) or FROSIO for coatings, ISO 9712 for NDT, CSWIP or AWS for welding inspection - current in your profile, because that is where a company reads them when you apply.
